Erickson Associates, Inc. recently completed the mechanical work for the new Service Center Complex at Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah, Georgia.  The complex was completed in three phases beginning August of 2006 with completion in September of 2009.  Located at the complex are the main service hangers with capacity for 34 business-class jets, small parts shops, tools and parts rooms, office space for employees and customers, cafeteria, stand-alone central energy plant, and waste-water treatment facilities.  The first phase of the project was completed in only 10 months while the next two phases were completed in 13 months.  The highlights of Erickson’s involvement are as follows:

 

  • Chilled Water Plant with (3) 800 Ton Chillers, Cooling Towers, and Primary-Secondary Pumping Systems
  • Heating Hot Water Plant with (2) 600 HP Boilers and Pumps
  • Compressed Air Plant with (3) 200 HP Air compressors and Refrigerated Dryers
  • Simulated Jet A Oil System with (2) 20,0000 gal Tanks, Pumps, and Filters
  • 6,000lf Preinsulated Chilled and Hot Water Underground Distribution Piping
  • 9,000 lf Double-Containment Underground Simulated Jet A Oil Piping
  • 37 Chilled Water Central Station Air Handling Units
  • 14,000 lf Chilled and Hot Water Distribution Piping
  • 18,000 lf Compressed Air Piping
  • Domestic Plumbing Systems and Fixtures
  • Industrial Waste Piping System
  • 620,000 Total Square Feet
